Create an assistant from scratch.
Give an assistant a name, a model and instructions, then chat with it.

Open a new assistant
In the studio, go to Assistants, click New, then New Assistant. The editor opens with a few short sections down the left.

Say what it does
Under What it does, give it a name and pick a model. Each model has different strengths, and you can change it later.
Step 3 of 4
Write the instructions
Under How it works & sounds, write instructions as you would brief a new colleague: who it helps, what it should do, what good looks like, and what to avoid. Add a welcome message so people know what to ask.

Try it
Once the name, model and instructions are filled in, the panel on the right (on a wide screen) says Ready to chat! Click Try it now and give it a real task.
